September 12th through November 28th, 2016

Concerning this Seminar Series

Despite undeniable advances in technology, life is still full of hard questions - some new, some very old: Does the origin of life impact the way I live today? How can members of different religions live in peace? Can I ever have peace of mind and be free of shame, guilt, judgment, and the past? Does religion breed hypocrisy?

Answers to such questions don't come easily or quickly, but we can make progress. For this, we need to apply ourselves to the study of ancient and modern wisdom. That's what this free seminar at St. Paul Lutheran Church aims to help us do.

Come join us! This Wisdom for Life seminar is presented by St. Paul Lutheran Church as a free service and outreach to the Whiting-Robertsdale Community. All materials will be provided. You will be encouraged to ask questions of your own in a friendly, non-threatening environment. You WON'T be asked to make commitments, give testamonies, attend services, or join the Church.

All people - of any or no religious convictions - are welcome to participate.

Here are the topics we'll wrestle with:

Session 1 The Living Word: How the Bible Actually Works
Session 2 In the Beginning ... Life or Death?
Session 3 Living as Humans with Humans: The Real Reason You Should "Judge Not"
Session 4 Living as if God WERE One of Us: Why Jesus Matters
Session 5 Living with a Spotless Mind: The Gift of a Clean and Clear Conscience
Session 6 The Seven Dimensions of Living Spiritually: The Prayer Jesus Taught Us
Session 7 Can't We All Just Get Along? Living and Loving Among the Religions
Session 8 Dying to Live: Rebirth & Personal Identity
Session 9 Heaven on Earth: A Living Communion
Session 10 Hope: The Life of the World to Come
